Delete Your Account

We're sorry to see you go. Follow the steps below to delete your SafeAus account and associated data.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)

Open the SafeAus app on your device
Tap on the Settings tab (gear icon)
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page
Tap Delete Account
Confirm your decision when prompted

Note: If you are the owner of a family group, you will need to transfer ownership to another member before you can delete your account.

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:

Send an email to support@safeaus.com.au
Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
Send the request from the email address associated with your account
We will verify your identity and process your request within 7 business days

What Data is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently deleted:

Account information: Your email address and profile details
Check history: All scam checks you have performed
Preferences: Your notification and app settings
Family membership: Your membership in any family groups
Device information: Registered devices and push tokens

Data Retention

The following data may be retained for a limited period after account deletion:

Anonymised analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage data may be retained for service improvement
Legal compliance: Some data may be retained if required by law or to protect our legal rights

Retained data will be automatically purged within 90 days unless legally required to be kept longer.

Important Notes

Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You will lose access to all your data and will need to create a new account if you wish to use SafeAus again.

If you are a family group owner, you must transfer ownership before deleting your account
Any shared family alerts you have sent will remain visible to other family members
Deletion may take up to 24 hours to fully process across all systems
